In 2022, communities across the country are being asked to ‘plant a tree for the Jubilee’. The campaign aims to celebrate the 70 years that the Queen has served the country, and as we all know trees are good for the environment for reducing carbon emissions. improving air pollution, and giving nature a helping hand.
We’re lucky to have lots of forest in some parts of our district, but we can always have more trees. Local communities and schools can apply for free trees from the Woodland Trust and individuals can also get involved with tree packs starting from under £9.
Tim Pickstone has written to local schools to see if they can get involved and it would be great if local communities could come together to mark this amazing jubilee.
